Common questions
What patients ask us first
I have headaches after my accident. Should I see a headache doctor?
Yes. Headaches are one of the most common symptoms following an auto accident or a slip and fall, and they often begin days after the incident. Headaches after an accident can be related to whiplash, neck and back injuries, nerve injuries, or mild traumatic brain injury and concussion — and each of those is treated differently. Our board-certified neurologists evaluate accident-related headaches, identify the cause, and treat it with options including medication, occipital nerve blocks, and physical therapy for headaches related to neck and back injuries. Call (813) 831-6622.
How soon after a car accident should I see a doctor?
As soon as you can. Whiplash, concussion and soft-tissue injuries often feel mild at first and worsen over the following days, and an early evaluation gives us the clearest picture of what happened to you. Call (813) 831-6622 and we will schedule you as soon as possible.
Do you accept auto insurance?
Yes. We accept all auto insurance carriers, including Personal Injury Protection (PIP), MedPay and no-fault.
Do you accept premises liability (slip and fall) MedPay insurance?
Yes. We accept all premises liability MedPay insurance for slip and fall and other premises-related accidents. Call (813) 831-6622 and we will get you scheduled.
What advanced diagnostic testing do you offer for accident injuries?
We offer specialized diagnostic testing to evaluate injuries sustained from your accident: Nerve Conduction Velocity (NCV) and Electromyography (EMG), digital EEG, Video Nystagmography (VNG) testing for mild TBI / concussion, balance and dizziness, Vestibular Evoked Myogenic Potentials (VEMP) and Auditory Brainstem Response (ABR) testing for mild TBI / concussion, vertigo and dizziness, and audiological testing for tinnitus and hearing loss.
What is NCV and EMG testing used for after an accident?
Nerve Conduction Velocity (NCV) and Electromyography (EMG) testing measure how well your nerves and muscles are working. After an auto, workplace or slip-and-fall injury they detect nerve and muscle damage and identify trauma-related disorders such as radiculopathy and entrapment syndromes. Our electrodiagnostic laboratory is accredited by the American Association of Neuromuscular & Electrodiagnostic Medicine (AANEM), the gold standard for NCV and EMG testing. Testing is performed by Terrie Woodard, R.NCS.T., CNCT, a registered neurodiagnostic technologist, and interpreted by Rosanna Garner, M.D., who is board certified in both neurology and electrodiagnostic medicine.
